Each year, Brno-Tuřany Airport checks in almost half a million passengers. In 2017, more than 470,000 people passed through the airport, while a year earlier it was nearly 418,000 people. There are currently two regular flights from Brno – to Munich and London.
The bmi regional flight to Munich flies twice a day on weekdays and at the weekend departs on Sunday. This route allows passengers from Brno to use Munich Airport as a central hub for connecting flights to other destinations around the world, while on the other hand it offers business travellers an easy way to fly to the South Moravian region. Last year it was used by 20,000 passengers, with interest in this route growing considerably.
The flight to London Stansted is operated by Ryanair. There is a flight every day and in 2017 it was used by 108,000 passengers.
The airport is busiest during the summer season when it is used by almost 300,000 people. Traditionally, among summer destinations the greatest interest is in flights to and from Greece, which transport nearly 100,000 people. About half that number of passengers travel to Bulgaria and over 30,000 people use flights to and from Egypt.
Every year, the airport handles nearly 4,000 tonnes of goods in scheduled and non-scheduled air transport. In 2017 Brno Airport recorded 44,000 movements of all aircraft.
The airport’s operator, AIRPORT BRNO a.s., is part of the Accolade Group, which focuses on investing in infrastructure for business in central Europe.
